Mossrose Avalon

Top notch dressage prospect! Check him out! 100% Foundation Morgan gelding. We feel Avalon is a superior prospect for dressage, western pleasure OR make him into an impressive competitor in the up and coming western dressage division! Classic looks and classic style in an eye catching package!

Mossrose Avalon was born May 2, 2008. We think this gelding is something special! We invited our well respected dressage trainer/instructor, Lisa, over to evaluate Avalon as a 2 year old. Immedately, Lisa commented on the sweet, willing disposition she could see in his eyes. Then we asked him to move out. Lisa was in awe of Avalon's super fancy elastic trot with tons of suspension. This colt has 3 correct gaits and works off of his hindquarters easily. He has lots of reach underneath himself with his hind legs. He also has a great front end and nice placement of neck. While it may be hard to see now as he is rump high and growing, Avalon has an uphill type build and should easily mature to 15.2H. As of January 4, 2012, Avalon is 15H at the withers and 15.1H at the rump. Watch the video below to see Avalon at two years old. Video and photos taken May 29, 2010. Avalon is priced at $5,500.Price to increase as training progresses.

Avalon likes attention and is used to, and quiet for trimming, routine vet care, haltering, leading, tie stalls, box stalls, clipping and grooming. He has been saddled and is coming along well. His work for the fall of 2011 is being lightly ridden twice a week in our 200' x 300' outdoor arena. He has been ridden alone and with other horses. He doesn't worry when ridden alone and goes right to work. When ridden with other horses, he pays no attention to them. At the end of the session, he is ridden out on the trails around our fields past woods, a county road and pastures of other horses. He will walk up to most anything you ask him to. He is not spooky and tries hard to please. He is proving to be quite an exceptional student. He has a great work ethic and tries hard to understand what we are asking him. He has really made some amazing progress and is becoming a super quiet, gentle and willing partner. When working, he is steady and consistent in his gaits.

Mossrose Blazin Cross

Blazin was born April 29, 2009. We couldn't have ordered a more perfect Morgan. Blazin is an absolute gem! Just by watching her play in the pasture, it isn't hard to see that she was sired by reining champion, Whippoorwill Newmoon. Extremely athletic with correct movement. She has more fancy moves than she knows what to do with at her young age!

Blazin is a chestnut filly with an electric blaze!! She is very sweet. We are so excited about the future for this filly. She has so much potential. She is a good girl, mannerly and expressive. She leads quietly in halter and will walk, trot, stop and back when asked. She is quiet and easy to work with for the farrier, routine vet care, deworming and clipping. Blazin is used to a box stall and a tie stall. She is outside almost all the time and shares a large pasture with other young mares. We have done ground work with Blazin and saddled her. Currently she is being ponied with another horse in our large outdoor arena while saddled to get used to work above her and the routine of arena riding. Soon we will pony her out on the trails as well. She is happy in her work and tries hard to understand what we are asking of her. She is a good girl and wants to do well. Blazin should easily mature to 15H. Blazin currently measures 14.2H at the withers and 14.3H at the rump. Blazin is priced at $3,000.Price to increase as training progresses.

2011 Mossrose Dark Knight

Here's a fun colt that could be your next performance or family pleasure horse! He is by reining champion, Whippoorwill Newmoon, dark bay classic Morgan stallion standing 15+H. His mother is our lovely 14.3H palomino mare, Mossrose Windfall (Triple S Chinook x Whippoorwill Salus by Californio). 100% Foundation Morgan colt foaled June 19, 2011. He is solid dark chestnut with just a few white hairs on his face. It looks like he is going to be quite dark, so he will look black after he sheds out his baby hair. He has the most handsome face and big eyes. This colt is quite handy, so should work well for a variety of disciplines. Photos above were taken at 3 weeks old. Priced at $1,500.

Whippoorwill Camilla

Whippoorwill Camilla was born in the spring of 2005. Her sire is Whippoorwill Daybreak. Her dam is Whippoorwill Salus. Currently Camilla stands 14.2H tall. I wouldn't be surprised if she grew a little more as her sire and dam are both a little over 15H. Camilla is sweet and very easy to get along with. She tries hard to please and is loaded with athletic ability. She always comes up for pets or to be haltered and is mannerly to handle. She is quiet and easy to work with for the farrier, routine vet care, deworming and clipping. Camilla is used to a box stall and a tie stall. She is outside almost all the time. She has been hauled and gets along fine tied or loose.

Camilla had 3 months of driving training in 2008 in a team with a well broke mare. She was driven outside through fields, woods and down roads with cars passing closely. She was used to haul hay and drag logs in a team situation. She looked to the other mare and her driver for guidance. She has not been hitched to any vehicles since that time. Since then, Camilla has been trained under saddle and ridden western and English.

Camilla is living at Mossrose Morgans, so we can answer any questions about her disposition or take any additional pictures or videos you may want to see. Pricing and sales information can be obtained by contacting her owner, Mary Jean Vasiloff.

Whippoorwill Capella

Whippoorwill Capella was born May 16, 2010. Her sire is reining champion, Whippoorwill Newmoon. Newmoon is an own son of Blackwood Correll and out of a Whippoorwill Duke daughter, Whippoorwill Kathleen. Capella's dam is a precious and rare daughter of Sereno Dandy Vermont and the mortgage lifter mare, Whippoorwill Corona.

Capella is sweet and very easy to get along with. She is brave and bold. Like her parents, she is not reactive, but has a calm demeanor and tries hard to please. Capella has loads of potential. She has her mother's stunning movement and her father's athletic ability. She is a good girl, mannerly and easy to have around. She leads quietly in halter and will walk, trot, stop and back when asked. She is quiet and easy to work with for the farrier, routine vet care, deworming and clipping. Capella is used to a box stall and a tie stall. She is outside almost all the time and shares a large pasture with other young mares.
